What: Annual Membership Meeting
When: Sunday, January 27th, 2019 at 2:00pm.
Duration: 2 hours, including presentation by guest speaker
Where: Caribbean Genealogy Library. Raphune Hill St. Thomas
Sean L. Krigger is the director of the USVI State Historic Preservation Office. His presentation will focus on Fort Christian, the oldest structure in continuous use in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was designated a historic landmark in 1971 and became a museum. Closed in 2005 to begin renovations, the site reopened in March 2017. During the renovations the popular historical site revealed some of its secrets. Mr. Krigger is excited to share with our members the story of Fort Christian and little-known insights that were uncovered during the renovation process.
The Annual Meeting is free for current members. Members are encouraged to renew prior to the meeting, or at the meeting. New members are welcome, and we encourage existing members to invite a friend to join the library. Membership start at $35 a year for individuals and $50 a year for families. More Information on Membership The public is invited, it is $5 for non-members to attend. Your membership is very important, it allows us to maintain the research library, provide access to historical records and rare books, offer help to researchers on island and abroad, and offer educational workshops and lectures.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the library. Happy New Year.
