USVI Author Ingrid Bough Book Signing postponed

UPDATE: This event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 response in the United States Virgin Islands.

As part of the VI History Month celebration, the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts, Inc. will host Virgin Islands Author Ingrid Bough at a book signing for her work “Violet Loves the Letter V: Virgin Islands Pride” on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the museum which is located at 10 Strand Street, Frederiksted St. Croix.

Ingrid Bough, JD, is a perennial friend of USVI libraries and former Territorial Director of Libraries, Archives & Museums. Previously a Copyright Specialist with the Library of Congress, she earned her Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Intellectual Property law in May of 2000 from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

In her book, young Violet explores the history, culture and festival arts of the U.S. Virgin Islands, with the reader brought along for a wondrous learning experience. The book features artwork by local artist Stuart Rames; there will be light refreshments and an open bar.

The Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts was established in 2003 with the following aims:

  • To preserve, promote and exhibit the arts of the Caribbean community;
  • To provide an interactive environment that encourages children, youth and adults to learn positive forms of expression, and
  • To offer creative learning experiences which foster an understanding of the rich cultural and artistic traditions of the Caribbean, and their source.
